Fibre Splicing

Fibre Optic Splicing and Fibre Technology in Nigeria

Fibre installation, fusion splicing, testing and fault restoration for networks that need to stay up.

Overview

Fibre optic cable carries data over long distances with high capacity and low loss, but its performance depends on the quality of every splice and connection. Our team provides fibre optic splicing in Nigeria and complete fibre services for internet providers, businesses, estates and industrial sites.

We carry out fusion splicing, install and terminate cable in ODF panels and splice closures, and test each link with an OTDR and power meter so you receive documented results. Projects range from FTTH and FTTx drops for homes and offices to backbone routes and campus networks connecting several buildings.

When a cable is cut or a link degrades, our technicians locate the fault with an OTDR and restore service. Fibre also supports our other systems, linking CCTV and access control across large sites, and complementing microwave radio links where cable cannot be laid. Every installation is labelled and documented, so future changes and repairs are faster, and maintenance agreements are available for networks that cannot afford long outages.

Our process

How we deliver

  1. Survey and route planning

We review the route, existing ducts and termination points, and plan the fibre design.

  2. Cable installation

Fibre is laid through ducts, trays or aerial routes and terminated in ODFs and closures.

  3. Splicing and testing

Every fibre is fusion spliced and tested with an OTDR and power meter.

  4. Documentation and maintenance

You receive test results and route records, with maintenance and fault restoration available.

Fibre Splicing questions

Fusion splicing joins two optical fibres by aligning them precisely and fusing them with an electric arc. The result is a permanent joint with very low signal loss and reflection, which is why it is the preferred method for backbone, FTTH and campus networks. Each splice is protected with a sleeve and stored in a closure or tray.

An OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) sends light down the fibre and measures what is reflected back. It shows the length of the link, the loss at each splice and connector, and the location of any break or bend. OTDR results prove the quality of a new installation and help locate faults quickly.

Yes. When a fibre is cut or a link degrades, our technicians use an OTDR to find the fault location, then repair and resplice the cable and retest the link. Response times depend on the location and access to the route, and maintenance agreements can be arranged for networks that need priority support.

Yes. We design and install campus fibre that links offices, warehouses, gatehouses and control rooms on the same site. This provides fast, reliable connections for data, CCTV and access control. We plan routes through existing ducts where possible, or recommend new ducting or aerial cable where needed.
