Microwave Radio Communication Setup in Nigeria

Wireless links that connect sites, offices and remote locations where laying cable is slow, costly or impractical.

Overview

Microwave radio links carry high-capacity data through the air between antennas with a clear line of sight. Our microwave radio communication in Nigeria service connects branch offices, industrial sites, estates and remote locations without the delays and costs of trenching fibre.

We design and install point-to-point links for dedicated connections between two sites, and point-to-multipoint networks that serve several locations from one base station. Every project starts with link planning and a path survey to confirm line of sight, distance and frequency. We then install masts or towers, mount and align the antennas, and test throughput and stability.

Some frequency bands are licensed and others are unlicensed. As an NCC-licensed company, we can guide you on which bands suit your project and on the licensing steps with the Nigerian Communications Commission. Where needed, we combine radio links with fibre optic networks for resilience. After handover we provide link test results and can monitor performance, realign antennas after storms or mast work, and replace faulty equipment, so your connection remains stable as your network grows.

A point-to-point link connects two sites directly with a dedicated radio path, which suits high-capacity connections such as linking a head office to a branch. Point-to-multipoint uses one base station to serve several remote sites, which is cost-effective when many locations need moderate capacity. We recommend the right design after reviewing your sites.

It depends on the frequency band. Licensed bands require frequency authorisation from the Nigerian Communications Commission, while some unlicensed bands can be used within set rules. Licensed bands usually offer less interference. As an NCC-licensed company, we can explain the options and guide you through the licensing process where it applies.

Range depends on the frequency, antenna size, transmit power, weather and, most importantly, clear line of sight between the two ends. Links can cover short distances across a site or much longer routes between towns when masts are high enough. Our path survey confirms whether a link is practical before installation.

Yes. Microwave links carry standard network traffic, so they can connect CCTV cameras, access control systems, internet and voice between sites. We size the link capacity for the traffic you expect, including video from multiple cameras, and leave room for growth so performance remains stable as you add devices.
